Join us Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Southern Makers for an Alabama Chanin DIY Chair Workshop.
Union Station Train Shed Downtown
300 Water Street
Montgomery, AL 36104
This workshop offers guests the opportunity to work with Natalie Chanin and her team to repurpose and redesign a selection of (gently) used chairs using fabric scraps, paint and stencils, markers, nails, and assortment of tools. This workshop models itself after Alabama Chanin’s Makeshift workshop series: Crafting Design, featured in the New York Times. Also seen on page 95 of Alabama Studio Style, the Woven Farm Chairs project repairs old chairs using cotton-jersey pulls made from fabric scraps. Conducted in a casual, open forum, the workshop will cover a wide range of topics from craft, design, and DIY. This workshop is open to all skill levels. Guests will enjoy inspiring instruction and provided materials. Purchase of this workshop includes materials, tools, instruction from the Alabama Chanin team and one ticket for admission to Southern Makers.
