To get a feel for this lightweight cotton jersey would you say that most t-shirts these days are made from medium weight jersey? I do see some men’s shirts made with heavyweight cotton. And for a skirt with applique would a single layer have enough body or would 2 layers be better?
Carol,
I would say that most standard t-shirts today are made with medium-weight and more “fashion” t-shirts are often made with lightweight cotton jersey. We have done some single layer skirts in lightweight with lightweight applique and I love the quality. It’s definitely great for summer-weight.
I have many of the lightweight tops that I have mixed with a standard long-sleeve rib t-shirt for the winter.
