HOLIDAY MARKET + THE FACTORY CAFÉ

HOLIDAY MARKET + THE FACTORY CAFE

“We are happy when we are growing.”
- William Butler Yeats

The Factory has been home to the Alabama Chanin design and production studio since 2008 and over the years has hosted workshops, events, and dinners. The space is filled with books, music, and the hum of making. Now, we are expanding The Factory to include a full-service café, serve as Workshop headquarters, and house the Alabama Chanin store.

HOLIDAY MARKET + THE FACTORY CAFE

Beginning November 5th, the store will be open to the public from 8:00am to 4:00pm each weekday and guided factory tours will be offered at 3:00pm. The café will open at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 5th, and regular café hours will be from 10:00am to 4:00pm each weekday. Join us in our factory café for a weekly selection of simple soups and salads, coffee, and cold drinks, along with cake and pie. The café will feature seasonal menus, sourced from local and/or organic ingredients, made fresh just for you.

On November 18th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, The Factory will host a grand opening of our new space, featuring the 2013 Holiday Market, live music, and cocktails. The market will include the work of Alabama Chanin alongside some of our favorite artisans, musicians, and purveyors, and will be open Monday – Friday November 19th through December 23rd, from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

HOLIDAY MARKET + THE FACTORY CAFEHoliday Market vendors will include the Southern Foodways Alliance, Shotwell Candy Company, Georgia Olive Farms, Alabama Biscuit Company, Heather Wylie/Bohemian Bop, Scout by Two, Burrows Woodworks, Maggie Crisler/BANG! Press, and Heath Ceramics. Several local musicians will also have music and merchandise available, including our friends The Bear, Belle Adair, Doc Dailey & Magnolia Devil, Elias Patriot, and Dillon Hodges.

Make plans to join us.

And check back next month for our weekly café menus (posting every Monday on the Journal).

Ack! Makes me wish I lived in Alabama (or was at least within easy driving distance). Sort of makes me think of the setup of Simon Pierce in Vermont. Such a great idea. Congratulations and many blessings on all your future endeavors. Maybe one day I’ll get to visit. :)

Congratulations! It’s all so inviting. What a wonderful environment/company you are building. And those pictures of your new collection are tantalizing! Can’t wait to check it all out.

Congratulations on the expansion; it’s great to see a natural marriage of the crafts of food and clothing. I still remember the catered meals during the workshop weekend I was lucky enough to attend. Will your son be the cafe’s chef? Must be wonderful.
