We are in the thick of winter here in Alabama, and hearty soups and stews are, indeed, always welcome at my table. This week, The Factory Café is featuring a roasted root vegetable soup that some might describe as “soul-satisfying.”

Here is what we have going on at The Factory Store + Café this week, Monday, February 17 – Friday, February 21:

Join us in the café this week to experience some of our new menu items, including creamy polenta, savory puff pastries, and grilled cheese sandwiches (perfect for picky eaters, age seven and under).


Roasted root vegetable soup with homemade crème fraiche and spicy pecans,
served with local greens and whole wheat sourdough toast

Homemade puff pastries with sweet potato and caramelized onions,
topped with local chevre, toasted pepitas, and pickled squash,
served with local greens

Creamy polenta served with Italian sausage, roasted red peppers,
caramelized onions, and shaved parmesan, served with local greens

 Pimento cheese sandwich, served open-faced on whole wheat sourdough toast,
with honey crisp apples and local greens


Roasted tomato soup with a grilled pimento cheese sandwich,
served with local greens and your choice of tea or coffee
