Because we need to do it

I'm compelled to write a thank you for posting this and encourage others to invest the 20 minutes to listen to the entire piece. By the end, I was surprised to be brought to tears by her words. Perhaps the last poster was too impatient and judged too quickly. As artists, most of us do we do what we do because we need to. It's all too easy to push inspirations aside. This talk is a good reminder that we need to be open to the gifts that come our way through grace, and need us to do our part by being receptive, ready to capture and channel them in our creative expressions to share them with the world. I am inspired to keep showing up to do my part. Enid Adams

Elizabeth Gilbert

I tried to watch the entire Elizabeth Gilbert video but it is so boring I just had to turn it off. I saw her on Oprah when her book first came out and I have to say she is the most conceited, egotistical poser of a person I have ever seen. If she could simply stop complimenting herself and her fabulous life long enough to breathe she might notice that artists just do their art. To try and dissect the process is a complete waste of time and is used by her to make her feel special or better than everyone else. Artists are people, plummers are people, lawyers are almost people, etc., she is so un-authentic that she really thinks she is better than other people. She is very average, very uncreative and she is everything an artist is not. In short she is a boorish phony. Why do people eat up that sort of dribble? Speaking as an artist I could not stomach it, she's sickening. Uuuggghhh!!!

Oh my, oh my. How thought provoking. I relate entirely! Although, I have come to "know" my "entity-helper". I have experienced all the stories shared (that of the poet in particular). izzyherrietteco.blogspot.com

So true. So easy to forget.

So true. So easy to forget. Thanks for the reminder. Abraham

Ole!

Thank you so much, Natalie, for bringing this to my attention. I had forgotten about Ancient Greece's geniuses and forgotten to take care of mine. I'm going to bake her cherry-walnut cookies, ask her to stick around. xo, a.c.
