The Alabama Chanin workshop series allows participants to work directly with Natalie Chanin and members of the Alabama Chanin design team. Our guests experience total immersion in the Alabama Chanin philosophy as they learn various stitching techniques, tips and tricks, as well as an explanation of our business model and company history. We offer several projects of varying intensity and length to satisfy all levels of skill and patience.  Conducted in a casual, open forum, the subject matter tends to cover a wide range of topics. We provide materials, know-how, and local cuisine. Everything needed to create your own custom project or DIY Kit is included.

What I do know is that participating in Friday's sewing circle with Natalie Chanin and friends left me charged in a way that reconfirmed why I came to a place like NYC in the first place.

I’m happy to report that thanks to Natalie’s workshop – and specifically her words of wisdom and kind, non-judgmental coaching – I’m hooked on handwork, and on my terms, to boot. Instead of stressing out about the quality of my stitches and worrying about what the finished product will look like, I’m allowing myself to appreciate the route I’m taking to get it to that point.

“Do you know what an impact that workshop has had on us all? As we sat and stitched on that quilt, and talked and laughed, we were remembering that blissful weekend that was the start of something, I believe, that will be with us always. A year out and our minds are still buzzing with inspiration, projects to try, new ways of seeing, and lifelong connections and friendship. For that, thank you…”
