Project Threadways + Project Say Something: History Harvest

Project Say Something and Project Threadways are teaming up to host a History Harvest about cotton and cloth. People are invited to bring their stories, photographs, and artifacts related to cotton and cloth production to the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library on Sunday, November 24th at 1pm. We will scan the photos and artifacts and record stories; participants will leave with whatever they bring. All items will be made available on our database: https://shoalsblackhistory.omeka.net/

Project Say Something is a non-profit organization whose mission is to confront racial injustice through black history by using non-violent communication, education, and community empowerment to reconcile the past with the present. Project Threadways is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that records, studies, and explores the history of the textile industry in The Shoals community, and the American South. Together, both organizations are looking to record the African American history of cotton and textiles in the Shoals.
