The Cotton Queen

"Natalie explains that, for some, cotton means soft clothes; for others, it means food on the table; and for still others, it means far more. She says, "We [The South] have a very ugly history of cotton, and we live with the repercussions of the today. That ugly history is something that I carry on my back, but, hopefully, what we are doing is creating some little, tiny part of a new life."

She is fueled by social responsibility, and her clothing line, like the books and cafe, is merely an extension of her being."
