Founded by Natalie Chanin, Alabama Chanin® and The School of Making® have spent over 25 years of designing and hand-crafting products of the highest quality and integrity.
Our design-build team, artisans, makers, writers, hand-embroiderers, and creators work with honesty, pride, and a commitment to people and planet, forging relationships from farm to factory and beyond.
Pieces in the Alabama Chanin Collection are crafted from American-made, organic cotton jersey by artisan sewers in and around The Shoals community of northwest Alabama. Every garment is made to order, a lean approach that puts sustainability at the center of how we use fabric.
We believe there is beauty in garments that age into the life of their wearer. We believe good things take time, and last a lifetime.
