WHAT WE LOVE: SPRING 2026

The longer days of Spring always bring a burst of excitement, and inspiration, both within the organization and outside of it.

Inspiration. Regeneration. Spring.

I’m deeply grateful to for our artisans and team for Collection #72—it’s a joy to be a part of this work.

The 2026 Project Threadways Symposium, titled Regeneration, is quickly approaching on April 23-25. If you haven’t already, make plans to join us for two days of inspiring talks, meals, conversation, and workshops.

Ahead of the weekend, read about Stephen Satterfield’s project COMOCO, a company reviving Black-grown cotton in the U.S. Browse the current issue of Selvedge magazine, curated by editor-in-chief and symposium speaker Polly Leonard. And marvel at Marwan Pleasant’s 2026 Mardi Gras suit as we get ready to learn from him in a dedicated beading workshop. (Also admire his one-of-a-kind, hand-beaded hats.)

The beautiful new book Seeking Abundance, from the nonprofit design practice MASS, offers a hopeful vision for the future.

I was blown away by all of the presentations in World Hope Forum—East Africa, particularly Katush founder and designer Katungulu Mwendwa, who spoke brilliantly about making and authorship. I’m honored to be speaking at the next WHF event, World Hope Heroes. Find details and sign up for the free virtual webinar here.

Zingerman’s co-founder Ari Weinzweig has a new pamphlet, Why Democracy Matters, which explores democracy not as a political position but as daily practice.

The Alabama Shakes Tour begins April 15. See you there.

The Equal Rights Amendment finds a new voice. Read more here.

Our team is pleased to share Collection #72, which centers the new Perianth stencil, inspired by the protective outer structure of a flower—which honors the quiet architecture that allows life to unfold. It celebrates protection, collaboration, and renewal.

It was a gift to partner with longtime colleague and friend Erin Reitz on the Alabama Chanin x E.M. Reitz collaboration. Shop the Tunica Operis.

The new Kitchen Sisters episode “Everyone’s a Casting Director” takes listeners inside the world of film casting with Frances McDormand and Project Threadways friend Jennifer Venditti of JV8. Browse all of their brilliant episodes here.

The Alabama Solution, a film that documents the six-year investigation into the Alabama prison system, is up for an Oscar.

Stay inspired.
