We make all of our garments to order, which means order fulfillment may take up to six weeks due to the nature of our production process and shipping times.
Practicing lean method manufacturing (made-to-order production) helps us reduce and even eliminate waste in our process and operate in a sustainable manner. Thank you for your patience as we custom make your items.
Quality is important to us. We strive to always create the best possible product for you and to provide the very best in customer satisfaction.
Please allow ample production and shipping time for all of our garments and DIY Kits; production times vary based on type and difficulty. You will receive a notification to your email on file when your package ships.
Orders are processed Monday – Friday.
We offer free shipping on domestic orders over $1000 and ship via UPS Ground. Free shipping is not offered on international orders, nor is it offered on purchases originally over $1000 that discount below that amount.
International orders for Build a Wardrobe and Custom DIY are subject to a separate shipping charge. Our team will contact you after you have made your purchase.
In our continuing efforts to become a better company and commit to ecological sustainability, Alabama Chanin now ships UPS packages using carbon neutral shipping.
Carbon neutral means that a person or a company reduces carbon dioxide emissions to counter balance emissions made elsewhere. In the case of our shipping method, UPS calculates the carbon impact each transported Alabama Chanin package has on the environment. Then, on behalf of Alabama Chanin, UPS purchases a carbon offset for an emission reduction project somewhere else in the world, like the Garcia River Forestry in California.
When your next order ships from our studio, know that you are supporting carbon neutral efforts, offsetting your carbon footprint, and helping us to build a sustainable environment for work and life.
Every garment and DIY Kit has a size chart, with measurements, associated with the product. If you are not sure of your size, send us an email with your measurements and we'll help you find the right fit—or visit us in-store at The Factory for a custom fitting.

We are happy to accept returns of unwashed, unworn, unused, or defective merchandise returned within 30 days from the receipt of merchandise. All DIY Kits must be returned in their original condition.

You may use the carrier of your choice to ship your return, but we recommend using a method that is trackable and insured. We are not responsible for any packages that are lost or damaged in transit.
Any refund will be credited back to the PayPal account or credit card used on the order. We cannot accept COD returns.
If an item returned to Alabama Chanin was either sent without return authorization or is not approved upon receipt, the item will be returned to the customer and the customer will be responsible for any associated shipping charges. Alabama Chanin will not be responsible for any returned packages that are lost or damaged in transit.
Because each Custom DIY Kit is created based upon your individual specifications, we do not accept returns of any Custom DIY Kits. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please choose carefully as you complete your design process. Use our Custom DIY Guide and Garment Descriptions PDF when making your project selections, paying careful attention to the size chart to ensure proper fit.
If you receive a kit and find that anything is incorrect or defective, please contact our Customer Service team.
We look forward to each workshop, as it gives us an up-close and personal experience with our customers and fellow makers.
Because each Alabama Chanin Workshop involves advanced preparation of materials, catering, and instruction, we require that a written cancellation request be sent at least 4 weeks prior to your workshop.
If you decide to cancel your registration after the four week time frame, we will be happy to reschedule your enrollment for another date. If you are unable to reschedule for another workshop, Alabama Chanin will offer you store credit in the amount of the workshop.
