Description Instructor: Sunne Meyer Our Embroidery Techniques Workshop includes discussion of the physics of sewing, embroidery stitches, and an overview of garment construction and other sewing techniques. The kit selections will focus on variegated striped kits that focus on exploring various embroidery techniques. Participants will choose from The Stripe Scarf and The Stripe Poncho DIY Kit. Participants will also learn to use the die-cut grids in The Geometry of Hand-Sewing to practice and develop your embroideries. These reusable cards can be stitched through for practicing or used as stencils for transferring grids to fabric. This workshop is suited to beginners and experienced sewers alike. Guests will work with The School of Making team to create a hand-sewn project. Once enrolled, you will receive workshop information and the form to choose your DIY Kit via email from The School of Making team. As the date of the class approaches, you will be sent a Zoom link to join us virtually. For US guests: A flat shipping fee of $12 has been added for the DIY Kit. For international guests: All orders will be subject to an additional shipping charge. Please register at least two weeks in advance to ensure that your kit arrives in time for the workshop.
